Start where you are.

Use what you have.

Do what you can.

Philosophy

I believe that effective psychotherapy begins with trust built through providing a safe and caring environment. Psychotherapy relies on listening, understanding and creating an effective strategy of care to promote growth and change.

I believe in providing clients with the tools they need to negotiate stressful situations. I help clients manage their emotional struggles by processing unresolved and unsettling concerns and working toward meaningful change.

Finally, I have observed that over time my clients will develop improved self-awareness, self-care and self-confidence in social relationships.

The Process

  1. Client Referrals — Clients are usually referred to me by other clients, MDs, colleagues, or their insurance companies. Although most clients are referred to my practice, I will process those who contact me directly without a referral.
  2. Telephone Screening — I will meet with prospective clients via telephone to determine appropriateness of the referral and gather demographics and insurance information. If I establish I am the right fit for the client and can help with their situation, I will schedule an in-person appointment in Google Calendar or send out an invite for a Telehealth session depending on their needs and preferences.
  3. First Session — In the first session I will establish clear and definable objectives for my client to understand our work and process.
  4. Ongoing Evaluations — I will continually review my session work with the client and establish updated objectives.
